Summer Fete Success!

Shedfield Lodge, Our Team

Despite the rain, we carried on with our Summer Fete plans on Sunday 23rd July 2017. A lesser team may have been disheartened, but not us! There was no way we were going to let everyone down.

We must give massive thanks to lots of people who made the day so special for everyone living at Shedfield Lodge.

Firstly, for the jeeps that belong to Mark & Ian (www.mark-1-tank.net https://www.facebook.com/Mark1Tank/ ) We were grateful for the roofs this year, with all the rain! They made for an excellent back drop to our military themed day.

Then we had all the animals, large and small, brought along by Mucky Bucket Farm (muckybucketfarm.co.uk) There were rabbits, alpacas, goats, chickens and lots more! Thank you all so much for being stuck out in the rain all day, hope you managed to have a coffee and a hot dog!

Some of the entertainment was provided by our own resident DJ, Mark, who was full of energy but the main entertainment was the fabulous vocals of Becki Short (beckishort.co.uk - twitter.com/BeckiShort) We would thoroughly recommend Becki and everyone hopes she comes back soon. Everyone was singing along, tapping feet and some were dancing too!

More entertainment was provided by Jo from Twinkles Face Painting (twinklesfacepainting.co.uk) which was absolutely amazing and nothing like we had seen before. Young and old, everyone wanted to have their faces painted! Again, we extend our thanks to Jo and hope she will come back again.

We would also like to say a special thanks to Louise Oram Sports Massage Therapist, Wickham Festival, Collective Purchasing, The Village Bakery, McCarthy's Super Stall, South Downs Funeral Service and our Proprietors, Carole & Andrew Geach for all the fantastic prizes they donated for our raffle and not forgetting all the relatives that brought prizes in as well.

It wasn't just donations our relatives brought in, a lot of them came in to help with the setting up, serving food and drinks and with the clean up afterwards, so again, we say thank you very much.

The biggest thanks of all go to all our ladies and gents. They are the ones that made the day special and we truly hope they enjoyed it.

We are also pleased to say that we raised £283.80 for Alzheimer's Society, so a cheque is on it's way to them! So, thanks also to every one that bought a raffle ticket to helps us raise these funds!

Photos from the day are on the Gallery page on our website.
